Description

Provides a standardized Model Context Protocol (MCP) interface to retrieve video details, statistics, transcripts (including timestamped captions and multiple languages), channel and playlist data, and to perform searches across YouTube content. It is installable via Smithery or npm and integrates with MCP clients (e.g., Claude Desktop) by exposing endpoints that agents can call. The server requires a YOUTUBE_API_KEY environment variable and simplifies building agents that need to read, search, or fetch contextual information from YouTube without handling the API details directly.
