An MCP server that integrates with VMware vCenter to manage virtual machines—create, list, migrate, and control host power—exposed via an SSE endpoint for MCP clients.
Perform VM migrations across ESXi hosts (single, multiple, or entire-host bulk migrations) using an MCP interface.
Create virtual machines with specified CPU, memory, disk, datastore, and network settings via vCenter.
Query VM inventories on ESXi hosts and control host power (shutdown/start) using BMC/iDRAC integration.
vCenter-mcp-server is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server designed to integrate with VMware vCenter for streamlined VM management. It supports creating virtual machines, listing VM details on ESXi hosts, migrating single or multiple VMs (or all VMs from a host) to target hosts, and controlling host power via BMC/iDRAC. The project provides instructions for running as an SSE service and for configuring MCP clients to connect, enabling automation and real-time operations for vSphere workflows.
