An MCP server that lets Claude Desktop agents query the USGS earthquake API to search for earthquakes and fetch event details via natural language.
Search historical and recent earthquake data by time range, geographic bounding box, and magnitude filters.
Fetch detailed metadata for a specific earthquake event (location, depth, magnitude, felt reports, technical location quality).
Integrate earthquake lookups into Claude Desktop workflows and accept natural-language search queries.
This Model Context Protocol (MCP) server provides access to the USGS Quakes API so agents can search earthquake records using many parameters and retrieve detailed information for specific events. It integrates with Claude Desktop (via MCP) and supports natural-language queries, making it easy to get time-, location-, and magnitude-filtered results. Installation is via Smithery or manual Node.js deployment, and the server is implemented in TypeScript/Node.
