A Python + Unreal plugin implementation of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) that lets AI assistant clients control Unreal Engine via natural language.
Create, delete, or transform actors (meshes, lights, cameras) in an Unreal level using natural language commands.
Author, modify, and compile Blueprints and construct node graphs (events, functions, variables) programmatically.
Control the Unreal Editor viewport, focus on actors or locations, and automate editor workflows from external MCP clients.
This project provides a native Unreal Engine plugin and a Python MCP server to enable AI assistants (e.g., Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf) to create and manage actors, edit Blueprints, manipulate node graphs, and control the editor viewport using natural language. It exposes actor management, Blueprint development and graph editing, and editor control capabilities over a TCP-based MCP connection. The server loads modular tools and communicates with a C++ plugin in the editor, making it possible to automate common Unreal workflows from external AI agents. Note: the project is experimental and the API and features may change.
