A lightweight MCP server that provides agents with the current date/time (formatted per timezone) and the current UNIX timestamp.
The current local or timezone-specific date and time to answer user questions or schedule events.
The current UNIX timestamp for logging, time calculations, or coordinating time-sensitive tasks.
Reliable time information to compute future/past times (e.g., "what will the time be in 3 hours in Pacifica?")
Time-MCP is a small STDIO-based Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes two tools: get_datetime (returns a formatted datetime for a specified timezone, defaulting to UTC) and get_current_unix_timestamp (returns the current UNIX timestamp). It is designed to be added to Claude Desktop or used by custom MCP clients, enabling agents to answer time- and date-dependent questions accurately. The project includes usage instructions for Claude Desktop and guidance for custom clients.
