A local MCP server that exposes SSH control so LLMs and MCP clients can execute shell commands on Linux and Windows systems securely.
Execute shell commands on remote Linux or Windows servers over SSH using natural language instructions.
Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting (collect logs, check services, run updates) by running commands securely and with timeout protection.
Integrate SSH-based command execution into MCP-enabled clients (e.g., Claude Desktop) with configurable timeouts and command-length limits.
SSH MCP Server is an MCP-compliant, TypeScript-based server that lets MCP clients (like Claude Desktop) run shell commands over SSH on Linux and Windows hosts. It supports password and key-based authentication, configurable command timeouts with graceful abortion of hanging processes, and a configurable maximum command length. The project is open-source (MIT) and intended for secure, automated remote command execution and debugging via natural language or agents.
