Connects SketchUp to Claude AI via the Model Context Protocol to enable programmatic scene creation, manipulation, and inspection from an external agent.
Programmatically create and modify SketchUp components (create_component, delete_component, transform_component) to build or iterate 3D models.
Inspect the current scene and selection (get_scene_info, get_selected_components) to make context-aware edits or reporting.
Apply or modify materials and export scenes or run custom Ruby snippets (set_material, export_scene, eval_ruby) for advanced automation and workflows.
SketchupMCP provides a SketchUp extension that runs a TCP server inside SketchUp and a Python MCP server that implements the Model Context Protocol. Together they allow an LLM agent (like Claude) to create, modify, transform, and export components, control materials, inspect the scene, and execute Ruby code inside SketchUp. This enables interactive, prompt-driven 3D modeling workflows and automation for designers and developers. The project is open-source and distributed with a MIT license.
