Description

mcprouter is a small Node.js MCP server that proxies MCP protocol traffic to remote hosted MCP backends. It enables MCP clients like Claude Desktop to run a local command that forwards communication to a remote server using an exclusive SERVER_KEY. The project includes build and watch scripts for development and provides an MCP Inspector tool to help debug stdio-based MCP communication. This is useful when you want a local MCP server entrypoint while relying on a remote hosted backend.
