A universal MCP server that exposes Playwright-based browser automation (multi-browser, headless/headful) for AI assistants and agent workflows, designed to work reliably in containerized environments.
Perform web browsing, form filling, clicking, and scraping tasks within containerized or restricted environments.
Multi-browser support and the ability to switch between headless and headful modes for debugging or production runs.
Manage multiple browser pages/tabs, take screenshots, and interact with page content through a standardized MCP interface.
Playwright Universal MCP provides a Model Context Protocol server that lets AI assistants control browsers via Playwright (Chromium, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, WebKit). It is container-friendly and works in limited-privilege environments (e.g., Docker), supports headless and headful modes, and offers multi-page management and common browser actions (navigate, click, type, screenshots, etc.). The project includes examples for integrating with Claude Desktop, running as a PM2 service, and a simple Dockerfile for container deployment. Its focus is on making robust browser automation available to MCP-enabled agents.
