A Model Context Protocol server that exposes Playwright browser automation to LLM agents using accessibility snapshots for structured, deterministic web interactions.
Navigate websites, fill forms, click elements and perform interactions programmatically using structured accessibility snapshots rather than screenshots.
Extract structured data from pages (tables, links, form fields) reliably without relying on vision models.
Run automated browser-driven tests, manage tabs, upload files or save pages as PDFs in headless or headed environments.
Playwright MCP provides a server that lets LLMs interact with web pages via Playwright, using accessibility tree snapshots instead of pixel-based screenshots. This makes interactions fast, lightweight, and LLM-friendly by avoiding vision models and enabling deterministic tool application. It supports both snapshot-based and optional vision-based modes, headless/headed operation, tab and navigation management, file uploads, PDF saving, and a variety of browser actions accessible via a clear CLI and programmatic API. The server is suitable for tasks like automated testing, form-filling, and structured data extraction.
