Description

This MCP server wraps the Perplexity (Sonar) API so Claude (via the MCP protocol) can perform real-time web searches and return sourced answers. It exposes a tool (perplexity_ask) that accepts conversational messages and forwards them to the Perplexity API, returning results to the assistant. Deployment options include Docker or NPX, and it requires a PERPLEXITY_API_KEY to operate. The integration enables agents to augment model responses with up-to-date web research and source links.
