An open-source MCP server that crawls, indexes, and provides searchable access to documentation for use as AI context.
Search and retrieve relevant passages from a corpus of documentation to provide accurate, context-aware answers.
Keep documentation context up-to-date by scheduling or forcing crawls and re-indexing of enabled sources.
Programmatic control over which documentation sources are enabled and accessible via MCP tools (enable_doc, disable_doc, list_enabled_docs, etc.).
Open Docs MCP Server is an open-source implementation of an MCP that provides document management: crawling, conversion, storage, and full-text indexing of documentation in multiple formats. It exposes tool-based MCP endpoints to enable/disable docs, trigger crawls, build search indexes, and run searches, and can be integrated with Claude Desktop via MCP configuration. The project is MIT-licensed and intended to let agents access up-to-date documentation as context for LLMs.
