An MCP server that lets AI agents interact with, edit, and export Jupyter (.ipynb) notebooks programmatically.
Create, add, edit, split, merge, or rearrange cells inside Jupyter notebooks programmatically.
Read notebook structure, metadata, and outputs or export notebooks to formats like Python or HTML via nbconvert.
Work with notebooks stored remotely over SFTP (SSH) while enforcing allowed workspace roots and secure authentication flows.
A standalone Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes a rich set of notebook-focused tools so conversational agents (notably in Cursor) can read, modify, validate, and export .ipynb files without executing kernels. It uses nbformat/nbconvert for safe file manipulation and export, enforces workspace root and size limits for security, and supports local and remote notebooks via SFTP. Multiple transports are supported (stdio, Streamable HTTP, SSE), making it usable both when Cursor launches the server or when you run it manually for interactive SFTP authentication.
