Memento MCP is a local-first server that offers AI agents durable and high-quality memory for code repositories by maintaining an on-disk code index, supporting fast search, semantic relationships, and explicit notes that persist across sessions. It exposes various MCP tools for repository operations and supports a companion VS Code extension for easy installation and configuration. The server incrementally detects changes and combines indexed chunks with language-aware relationships to provide safe and relevant context for large language models.
