An MCP server that allows AI assistant clients to control Autodesk Maya via natural language by exposing scene and modeling tools over the Model Context Protocol.
Create, select, and modify objects in an Autodesk Maya scene via natural language commands.
Perform modeling operations and generate complex assets (cars, trees, buildings, cups, chairs) programmatically within Maya.
Integrate with a local MCP client (e.g., Claude Desktop) to automate scene management, materials, and batch operations without installing plugins inside Maya.
Maya MCP Server exposes Maya operations (create/select objects, set attributes, advanced modeling, material creation, scene management, etc.) as MCP tools so agents like Claude Desktop can drive Maya through natural language. It requires only a Python 3.10+ MCP server (no in-Maya installs) and communicates with Maya using its default command port, sending Python to be executed inside Maya. Tools are dynamically discoverable and extendable by adding Python tool files to the mayatools/thirdparty directory, and the project is MIT-licensed and designed for simplicity and easy extension. Tested with Maya 2023 and 2025, this is an early-stage, community-oriented implementation.
