A Python-based MCP server that bridges to the macOS Messages app to send, read, and search messages programmatically.
Programmatically send messages to contacts, automatically choosing iMessage or SMS/RCS based on recipient availability.
Read and search recent Messages conversations, filter by contact or phone number, and perform fuzzy content searches.
Verify iMessage availability for recipients and integrate message operations into workflows running in Cursor, Claude Desktop, or Docker (via mcp-proxy).
Mac Messages MCP exposes the macOS Messages app via the Multiple Context Protocol so agents can send iMessage or SMS, read recent conversations, and perform fuzzy searches on message content. It automatically selects iMessage or SMS/RCS per recipient, provides contact filtering and iMessage-availability checks, and supports integration with Cursor, Claude Desktop, and Docker via an mcp-proxy. The tool requires macOS, Python 3.10+, the 'uv' package manager, and Full Disk Access to the Messages database. It is intended for automation and agent workflows that need programmatic access to Messages on a Mac.
