A local MCP server that lets LLM-based agents control and query LIFX lights via the LIFX HTTP API using natural language.
List and summarize available LIFX lights, groups, and scenes with live data from the LIFX API.
Change light states (power, color, brightness, kelvin), run effects, or activate scenes using natural-language commands.
A local, privacy-conscious integration to expose LIFX control to LLMs via MCP clients like Claude Desktop or the MCP Inspector.
This server exposes LIFX functionality as MCP tools, resources, and prompts so agents can list lights, read states, set states, activate scenes, and run effects (breathe, pulse, move, morph, etc.). It integrates with MCP-capable clients (e.g., Claude Desktop, MCP Inspector) and supports config via a local JSONC file, environment variables, or CLI args for the LIFX personal access token. Running locally preserves privacy of device metadata while communicating with the LIFX cloud over HTTPS and provides helpful prompts and selector autocompletion to simplify usage.
