An MCP server that lets AI assistants (e.g., Claude) create, read, edit, and format LibreOffice Writer documents programmatically.
Create, read, and modify LibreOffice Writer documents (ODT) programmatically via MCP, including adding headings, paragraphs, tables, and images.
Automate document workflows such as search-and-replace, text formatting, inserting tables, and managing files in a user's documents folder.
Integrate with Claude or other MCP-compatible clients to perform conversational document editing and return results to users.
This project implements a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes LibreOffice (Writer) functionality as callable tools for AI assistants. It uses a LibreOffice helper (UNO bridge) and a socket-based MCP server to forward commands and perform operations like creating documents, adding headings, tables, images, search-and-replace, and formatting. The server is intended for local use with LibreOffice installed and enables conversational or automated document workflows via MCP-compatible clients such as Claude for Desktop.
