A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets AI models (e.g., Claude) control the Hancom HWP word processor to create, edit, and manipulate HWP documents programmatically.
Programmatically generate standardized HWP reports or letters from templates and save them to disk.
Create and populate complex tables inside HWP documents (including header rows, numeric sequences, and multi-row data).
Run batch document workflows (create, edit formatting, insert content, and save multiple documents) controlled via MCP.
HWP-MCP provides programmatic control of the Hancom HWP application on Windows, exposing document creation, text editing, table operations, templated report/letter generation, and batch workflows to AI agents via the MCP. It integrates with Claude by registering a local MCP server and requires Python and a local HWP installation. The project includes table-focused utilities, a security module to mitigate HWP file-access prompts, and example helpers for common tasks like inserting text, creating tables, filling columns with numbers, and saving documents.
