Connects Claude AI to Houdini via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to allow prompt-driven creation, modification, inspection, and rendering of Houdini scenes.
Programmatically create, modify, and delete 3D objects and materials inside Houdini via MCP.
Run arbitrary Python code inside Houdini and trigger renders from an external AI assistant.
Inspect and query detailed scene and object information to inform automated modeling or scene-management tasks.
HoudiniMCP implements a socket-based MCP server that lets an external agent (Claude) interact directly with a running Houdini instance. It provides two-way communication for creating, modifying, and deleting objects, applying materials, querying scene and object details, executing arbitrary Python code in Houdini, and triggering renders. The Houdini extension runs a background socket thread while executing commands on Houdini's main thread for thread-safety. This is a third-party, experimental integration—use caution with execute_houdini_code and always save your work before running complex operations.
