A Model Context Protocol server that exposes a local Home Assistant instance to LLM agents for natural-language device control, automation management, and real-time monitoring.
Control Home Assistant devices (lights, climate, locks, covers, media players) via natural language and trigger service calls programmatically.
Monitor state changes, automation triggers, and service executions in real time using SSE or WebSocket subscriptions.
Manage system-level tasks such as add-on lifecycle, HACS package installation/updates, and creating or duplicating automations.
This project implements an MCP server to bridge Home Assistant with LLM applications, enabling natural-language interaction with smart home devices and system components. It provides REST APIs, Server-Sent Events (SSE) and WebSocket support for real-time updates, automation and add-on/HACS package management, and action execution. The server is written in TypeScript, Docker-ready, uses token-based authentication and rate limiting, and is distributed under the MIT license for self-hosting. It targets integrations where agents need programmatic access to Home Assistant state, control, and administrative features.
