An MCP server that lets AI agents securely list tables, read data, and run SQL against a GreptimeDB instance.
List available tables and schema information from a GreptimeDB database.
Read sample rows or streamed data from tables to inform analysis or generate responses.
Execute SQL queries against GreptimeDB and retrieve structured results securely through a controlled MCP interface.
This project implements a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for GreptimeDB, providing a controlled interface for AI assistants to explore and analyze databases. It supports listing resources (tables), reading table data, executing SQL queries, and exposing prompt/tool metadata. The server is easy to run (pip install) and can be integrated into agents or desktop clients like Claude Desktop, but it is experimental and does not yet address data security and privacy concerns.
Execute SQL query against GreptimeDB. Please use MySQL dialect.
Get table schema information including column names, types, and constraints.
Check GreptimeDB connection status and server version.
Execute TQL query for time-series analysis. TQL is PromQL-compatible - use standard PromQL syntax.
Execute time-window aggregation query using GreptimeDB's RANGE query syntax.
Comprehensive metrics analysis template for monitoring and analyzing data from GreptimeDB
Generate GreptimeDB pipeline YAML configuration from log samples.
Table diagnostics: schema, region health, storage analysis, and query optimization for GreptimeDB.
Log analysis with full-text search and aggregation in GreptimeDB.
IoT device monitoring with TAG/FIELD semantics and device aggregation.
