An MCP server that lets AI assistants create, read, update, manage, and export Google Docs via the Google Docs and Drive APIs.
Programmatically create and populate Google Docs for report generation, note-taking, or templated document creation.
Read, search, and extract content or metadata from existing Google Docs to inform responses or populate knowledge bases.
Update, share, export (PDF/plain text), or delete documents as part of automated document workflows and collaboration tasks.
This open-source MCP server provides a bridge between AI agents and the Google Docs API, enabling programmatic creation, retrieval, updating, deletion, sharing, searching, and exporting of Google Docs. It supports multiple authentication methods (service account, API key, OAuth2) and can be run locally, in Docker, or behind an SSE proxy with authentication. The project is intended to simplify integration for assistants that need document-level workflows and can be used with MCP-compatible agents like Claude. It includes tooling and examples for obtaining OAuth refresh tokens and common MCP tool definitions.
