An MCP server that exposes GitHub (including Enterprise) API capabilities to agents for repository, file, issue, PR, and search operations.
Create, update, or batch-push files to GitHub repositories while preserving commit history and automatically creating branches when necessary.
Manage repository workflows such as creating branches, pull requests, reviews, merges, and querying PR/file/commit details programmatically.
Search code, issues/PRs, and users across GitHub or a GitHub Enterprise instance and integrate those results into automated tasks or assistants.
This MCP server provides a bridge between agent tooling (Cline/Claude/VS Code) and the GitHub API, enabling file creation/updating, multi-file commits, branch management, issues, pull requests, code and user search, and more. It supports automatic branch creation, preserves Git history without force-pushing, and offers comprehensive error handling for common scenarios. The server is configurable via environment variables (GitHub token, API URL, API version) so it can target GitHub.com or a GitHub Enterprise instance. Designed for integration with local agent runtimes, it exposes many discrete tools (create/update files, push files, search, PR review, merge, etc.) for programmatic workflows.
