An MCP integration that lets GitHub Copilot communicate with Figma to read, create, and modify designs programmatically via a WebSocket bridge and a Figma plugin.
Programmatically create and assemble UI layouts in Figma (frames, rectangles, text, component instances) from natural language prompts.
Scan, batch-update, or replace text across large designs and manage annotations systematically.
Export specific nodes as images or inspect node metadata and styles to drive downstream automation and QA workflows.
This project implements a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and a Figma plugin that connect GitHub Copilot to Figma through a WebSocket server, enabling real-time design inspection and manipulation. It exposes tools for reading document and node info, creating and editing nodes (frames, rectangles, text), batch text and annotation operations, styling, layout changes, component handling, and exporting nodes as images. The integration is useful for automating repetitive design tasks, converting legacy annotations, and enabling AI-driven design workflows directly from Copilot. Setup instructions and development notes are provided for running the MCP server, WebSocket, and linking the Figma development plugin.
