An MCP server that connects large language models to GIS libraries to enable AI assistants to perform geospatial operations and analyses.
Perform geometric operations and topology checks (buffer, intersection, union, validate, simplify) on vector geometries.
Process and analyze raster data (clip, resample, reproject, compute NDVI, zonal statistics, hillshade) and export results.
Generate static and interactive maps or integrate geospatial workflows into MCP-compatible clients (Claude Desktop, Cursor IDE) for automated spatial analysis.
GIS MCP Server exposes a wide set of GIS tools (Shapely, PyProj, GeoPandas, Rasterio, PySAL and visualization libraries) through the Model Context Protocol so LLM-based agents can run geometry operations, raster/vector processing, spatial statistics, and map visualizations. It supports raster and vector workflows, coordinate transformations, zonal statistics, NDVI and other remote-sensing tasks, and integrates with MCP-compatible clients like Claude Desktop and Cursor. The project is extensible for custom tools and geared toward making AI 'think spatially' for environmental analysis, mapping, and location intelligence.
