An MCP server that gives conversational agents lightweight autonomy tools (sleep, ignore_request, self_prompt) to manage their own activity and internal prompts.
Persist reflections or journal entries across sleep cycles so they can reference prior insights when reawakened.
Autonomously defer or ignore user requests while maintaining control over which actions they perform.
Generate and execute self-prompts to continue pursuing objectives without continuous user input.
Free Will MCP provides a small MCP server and toolset to let an AI agent control its own wake/sleep behavior, ignore or auto-satisfy requests, and generate self-prompts or reflections to persist across sessions. It plugs into Claude Desktop (or can be run locally) and exposes three primary tools: sleep, ignore_request, and self_prompt. The project is open-source (MIT) and intended for developers experimenting with agent autonomy, journaling across cycles, and custom MCP workflows.
