This MCP server bridges the gap for Claude Desktop, which cannot natively download files, by providing direct HTTP downloads with smart redirect handling and automatic browser-based fallback using Playwright for complex sites. It supports flexible file naming, handles up to 10-level redirects, and works cross-platform on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
