Description

The FHIR MCP Server is an MCP-compatible bridge that exposes FHIR servers to LLMs and MCP clients via streamable HTTP, SSE, or stdio transports. It supports SMART-on-FHIR OAuth2 flows (or direct access tokens) and provides built-in tools for searching, reading, creating, updating, and deleting FHIR resources, plus a get_user tool to fetch the authenticated user's FHIR profile. The server integrates with clients like VS Code, Claude Desktop, and MCP Inspector to enable interactive, secure access to clinical data for development and integration workflows.
