An MCP server that enables LLMs to interact with the DraCor API to retrieve play texts, metadata, and character-network analyses for literary and computational analysis.
Fetch full play texts or TEI XML from the DraCor corpora for text analysis and processing.
Compute and retrieve character-network metrics, export network data (CSV/GEXF/GraphML), and analyze character relations.
Search corpora, compare plays, and run structural or gender-representation analyses using built-in tools and prompt templates.
This project implements a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server providing programmatic access to the DraCor API (v1) so Claude or other LLMs can query corpora, plays, full texts (plain and TEI XML), character lists, relations, and network metrics. It includes a FastMCP (v1) implementation with resources, tools, and prompt templates for searching plays, comparing plays, analyzing character relations, and full-text analysis. The server requires no authentication (DraCor is publicly accessible) and supports multiple output formats (CSV, GEXF, GraphML), making it useful for research, annotation, and automated literary analysis workflows.
