Description

Desktop Commander MCP extends the MCP Filesystem Server to give Claude Desktop direct access to your OS: run long-running terminal commands with streaming output and background sessions, list/kill processes, and manage files and directories. It supports surgical text replacements and full file rewrites, recursive ripgrep-based code/text search, pattern-based replacements across multiple files, and the ability to read files or images from URLs. The tool is installable via npx or other installers and is designed to speed up codebase exploration, automated edits, and system automation workflows while keeping operations local.
