A command-line tool to run, inspect, and interact with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and their tools, resources, and prompts.
Discover and enumerate available Tools, Resources, and Prompts exposed by an MCP server for orchestration or capability planning.
Run or connect to MCP servers locally or remotely (via npx, node, Streamable HTTP, or SSE) to execute tools and fetch resource contents.
Non-interactive automation to call specific tools or prompts (with JSON args) and to manage stored credentials or OAuth tokens.
mcp-cli is a CLI inspector for the Model Context Protocol that can launch MCP servers from local code, NPM packages, or connect to running servers over Streamable HTTP or SSE. It lists and invokes Tools, Resources, and Prompts, supports non-interactive scripting mode for automation, and handles OAuth for SSE and streamable HTTP servers. The tool is distributed for use via npx and includes utilities to purge stored data such as OAuth tokens.
