An MCP server that lets LLM agents read, query, visualize and modify IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) models via a Blender addon and a Python MCP server.
Query and extract spatial hierarchies, properties, relationships, and quantities from IFC models loaded into Blender.
Generate construction budgets (BC3), export structured IFC data (JSON/CSV), and produce multilingual technical building reports from IFC data.
Visualize models and interact with Blender (capture viewport images, export high-resolution PNG drawings, place IFC objects) and run step-by-step sequential thinking workflows.
Bonsai-mcp integrates IFC support into the Model Context Protocol by combining a Blender addon (socket server) with an MCP tools server. It exposes a suite of IFC-specific tools for querying spatial structure, properties, relationships, quantities, georeferencing, exporting drawings and BC3 budgets, and for placing or modifying IFC elements in Blender. The integration includes a sequential thinking tool for structured workflows and retains an execute-code tool to run Python in Blender. It is intended to enable LLMs (e.g., Claude) and other MCP clients to analyze, report on, and manipulate IFC models programmatically.
