An MCP server that exposes Azure services and tooling to AI agents, enabling them to discover and interact with Azure resources and run Azure CLI/azd commands.
List, inspect, and query Azure resources (storage accounts, databases, AKS clusters, etc.) to answer user queries or perform maintenance tasks.
Run Azure CLI or azd commands and generate deployment plans, Bicep/Terraform files, or pipeline guidelines for provisioning and deploying applications.
Query telemetry and logs (Log Analytics/KQL, Monitor metrics, Service Health) or access secrets/keys in Key Vault to diagnose and remediate issues.
The Azure MCP Server implements the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect AI agents (for example, GitHub Copilot in Agent mode) with a broad set of Azure services. It provides tools to list, query, and manage resources such as Storage, Cosmos DB, AKS, Monitor, Key Vault, ACR, SQL, and many more, plus execution of Azure CLI and azd commands. The server uses the official Azure Identity SDK for secure authentication and includes telemetry configuration and troubleshooting guidance. It is designed to let agents perform practical cloud tasks and generate deployment or diagnostics artifacts safely and interactively.
