An MCP server that exposes AnkiConnect actions as Model Context Protocol tools for programmatic interaction with Anki flashcards.
Create, update, or delete Anki notes and cards programmatically (e.g., generate flashcards from content or summaries).
Search and retrieve decks, notes, or cards to build personalized study flows or fetch review data for user-facing assistants.
Manage media, templates, and model definitions in Anki (e.g., add images, update card templates, or modify note types) as part of automated workflows.
This server connects to the Anki desktop application via the AnkiConnect add-on and exposes Anki functionality (decks, notes, cards, models, media) as MCP tools grouped by logical services. It lets MCP-capable agents or assistants inspect and invoke AnkiConnect actions to create, modify, search, and manage flashcards and related resources. The project includes tooling for running the server locally and inspecting available tools with the MCP Inspector. Requires Anki desktop and the AnkiConnect add-on to be installed and reachable (default http://127.0.0.1:8765).
