Description

AiderDesk includes a bundled MCP server that allows external MCP clients (agents or desktop apps) to call core AiderDesk APIs. It exposes tools such as add_context_file, drop_context_file, get_context_files, get_addable_files, and run_prompt so agents can manipulate project context and execute prompts inside AiderDesk. This enables agents to access and modify local code, coordinate with Aider for code generation/edits, and integrate IDE-synced context into their workflows. Configuration is straightforward (project path argument and AIDER_DESK_API_BASE_URL environment variable) so you can connect various MCP clients to your running AiderDesk instance.
